Driftwood lamp

Driftwood Lamp | Easy way to build a hand crafted lamp How driftwood can become something so much more than litter on the beach. On a journey out to Lake Jackson for a weekend, myself and a friend of mine decided to get away from the city and take a trip to the beach. We found ourselves a few beers deep, walking along the coast of Surfside beach. While walking, I stumbled upon some unique pieces of wood from an old Jack Daniel's whiskey barrel. Astound with what was in front of me, I said to myself "Hey...you should keep this wood and make something with it." So I did, and brought it home and dryed it out. After a few days of letting the wood dry out, an idea popped in my head for a structure with lighting. I remember coming across driftwood lamps before in a previous find - web searching. So I decided to make a structure with soft lighting, used as a sculpture and lamp combined. The following materials needed are below: Driftwood - go for an adventure to the beach, see what you find Scrap Wood - this would be needed for the base, something rectangular or square could work Wood Stain - you can choose from a variety of colors, depending on your theme or mood Paint Brush - to spread the stain across the base wood scrap Hot Glue Gun - use a hot glue gun, and remember to stock up on some glue sticks (2) LED Lights - any brand will do, I chose a bit of a cheaper one that has a softer feel
